Candida overgrowth is a global health crisis affecting millions of individuals worldwide. Women often associate the term ‘candida’ with yeast infections in the genitals, while men frequently link it to fungal infections in toenails. However, the issue is much more complex and serious than that.
Candida is a fungus commonly found in the mucous membranes of healthy individuals, primarily in the gastrointestinal and genital tracts of women. The fungus does not cause harm until it overgrows.
What causes Candida fungal infection?
Several factors can contribute to candida overgrowth, but research indicates that broad-spectrum antibiotics are the culprit in 92% of cases. Stress also plays a significant role, as do processed foods like industrial vegetable oils, sugar, excessive carbohydrate intake, alcohol, and so forth. Environmental toxins have a substantial impact by suppressing the immune system, such as pesticide residues and plastics. Contraceptives and other medications also play a significant role in candida overgrowth, along with radiation therapy, drug treatments, hormone therapy, and various other factors.
Do you have Candida?
These are the most common symptoms:
- Brain fog
- Oral thrush
- Sugar or carbohydrate cravings
- Depression & anxiety
- Digestive issues, bloating or abdominal pain
- Irregular bowel movements or diarrhea / constipation
- Gas formation
- Skin problems (eczema/psoriasis/blisters)
- Antibiotic usage
- Use of contraceptive pills
- Chronic fatigue/lethargy
- Insomnia
- Genital yeast infection
- Infections in the sinus and throat cavities
- Acid Reflux (chest pain/mucus production/upper abdominal bloating)
- Connective tissue disorder
- Nutrient deficiencies
- Underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism)
- Frequent headaches
- Unexplained weight gain
- Epstein-Barr virus
- Autoimmune diseases (Hashimoto’s, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, ulcerative colitis, scleroderma, or multiple sclerosis).
Candida overgrowth is often at the root cause of the symptoms mentioned above. A significant portion of individuals in contemporary society grapple with Candida overgrowth without realizing it. The symptoms are often concealed, and people may begin to accept the state of ill health they’re dealing with, not necessarily attributing it to Candida overgrowth.
This is not an exhaustive list but rather some common symptoms. Symptoms can be numerous. Some individuals may associate with multiple symptoms, while others with Candida overgrowth may only relate to one symptom.
In addition to the symptoms I’ve mentioned, candida overgrowth is linked to persistent issues like upper respiratory tract infections, chronic sinusitis, thyroid dysfunction, blood sugar imbalances, as well as severe autoimmune diseases, connective tissue diseases, lupus, schizophrenia, and even cancer.
lifestyle factors that encourage Candida overgrowth ...
The primary causes of candida overgrowth are antibiotics, steroids (such as cortisone and prednisone), contraceptive pills, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), poor diet, low stomach acid, compromised immune system, drug therapy, radiation therapy, heavy metals, excessive alcohol consumption, and stress.
Other influential factors include silver fillings in the mouth, as well as heavy metals in our environment, such as lead (found in many cosmetics) and cadmium. All of the aforementioned directly or indirectly destroy the good bacteria in our digestive system, allowing candida overgrowth to thrive.
Candida overgrowth thrives on an unhealthy diet rich in sugar, simple carbohydrates, dairy products, alcohol, and processed foods. It also thrives on hormonal imbalances caused by stress. Prolonged stress increases cortisol (the body’s stress hormone produced by the adrenal glands), and excessive cortisol raises blood sugar levels. Sugar acts as fuel for Candida to multiply, and the fungus doesn’t differentiate whether increased sugar in the body is due to dietary sugar intake or excessive stress.
candida overgrowth can lead to leaky gut
When the overgrowth of the yeast fungus becomes significant, it begins to spread throughout the body, much like the roots of plants. Candida roots establish themselves in the intestines and attach to the mucous membrane of the digestive tract, causing the intestinal wall to become permeable (leaky gut).
When a leaky gut is present, the fungus and its toxic byproducts can seep through the intestinal wall and enter the body’s bloodstream. This prompts immune cells to attack the fungus, creating hyperactivity in the immune system, and various symptoms can manifest.
the hidden cause of many diseases ...
Ann Boroch suffered from Candida overgrowth from the age of 19 and was a sugar addict until she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) at just 24 years old. Ann Boroch was a naturopath and nutritionist by profession and sought natural ways to improve her health. In her book, she extensively discusses how candida overgrowth is connected to MS and many other autoimmune diseases. Millions of individuals suffer from candida overgrowth but continue to live in uncertainty about why they feel so unwell.
Ann Boroch dedicated herself to a strict Candida diet for four years, removed all fifteen silver fillings she had in her teeth, and took herbal remedies to eliminate Candida overgrowth. Alongside improving her mental health and well-being.
After four challenging years battling MS and suicidal attempts, incredibly, she finally conquered the disease and has been symptom-free for over 23 years.
She has since helped thousands of individuals worldwide with various ailments, treating hundreds of disease types with Candida cleansing.
Usually, a three-month Candida cleanse is sufficient, but in severe cases, a longer period may be necessary.
not the cause of all diseases ...
I wouldn’t go so far as to say that Candida overgrowth is the cause of most existing diseases, but it is a significant part of the puzzle that creates microbial imbalance. When there’s overgrowth, it lays the groundwork for pathogens and harmful organisms to take hold. Viruses awaken from dormancy, parasites make themselves at home, and harmful bacteria multiply. By cleansing the body of harmful Candida overgrowth through a good diet and supplements, you also remove various types of inflammation and infections from the body that stem from it.
Candida cleansing also helps strengthen the immune system and restore balance to the intestinal microbial flora, where most health problems originate.
I believe that everyone living in today’s society benefits from a 90-day Candida cleanse to strengthen intestinal health, increase energy and focus, improve well-being and mood, balance weight, enhance sleep, and remove inflammation from the body, along with many other positive benefits.
Doctors and scientists have finally started to see the connection between Candida overgrowth and various health symptoms & diseases.
Western medicine has tended to deny that the yeast fungus causes these countless diseases, but now the fact is starting to come to light. Physicians worldwide have finally begun to recognize the link between Candida overgrowth and the development of diseases. The truth is that fungal toxins – the byproducts the fungus emits – disrupt the body’s cellular communication, triggering inflammations and infections to settle in the body where we are genetically weakest. Thus, everyone experiences different symptoms.
The liver is responsible for clearing the toxins produced by the Candida fungus from the body. However, nowadays, the liver works hard to cleanse modern toxins, including alcohol, industrially produced vegetable oils, medications, additives in food, environmental toxins, and the like, which easily overwhelm the liver. Consequently, these toxins reach other organs where the liver is overwhelmed and can cause significant damage.
